Performed at I AM HERE THE TIME IS NOW meeting on September 13th 2008, curated by Ong Keng Sen, at Rotterdamse Schouwburg theater during Rotterdam’s International Choice theatre festival,
Supported by the ECF.
The performance happened in the dark, where visitors could see (or perhaps – more sense and hear) the giant balloon inflated by it’s “guardian angel” Kriss. The sounds of air coming through the “throat” of balloon combined with heavy breathing of Kriss was used to create a massive soundscape with no other sound sources used.
After half an hour of intensive pumping Kriss stoped, lighted up the cigarette and then pierced the balloon causing loud explosion.

“TEC-1″

Video for choir composition “TEC-1″ by Jekabs Nimanis.
TEC-1 is a name of the abandoned termoelectro-central which some day will (possibly) turn into a museum of modern arts of Latvia). In my video interpretation the lower floor of this building is sort of drowning in color, while the upper floor and the huge steam boiler is melting in polythene.
Video is meant to be shown as a video projection in live performances of “TEC-1″.

“Untitled (Liku bēdu zem akmeņa)”

Performed at festival for adventurous music and art “Sound Forrest”, Riga, Latvia, 7.05.2008.
Four old TV screens were placed in different positions on the stage, with big video projection at the back. The performance consisted of four screens showing an vague event with uncertain time-line (nervous eye, calm mouth which eventually burst into screaming, movement of leafs and a stone) while asexual human being lies steady on the big screen. The soundwork was built using sounds from TV screens (that also created their own static noizes) and pre-recorded sounds from the human body actions.

“The Mushroof performance”

Performed at “LabiChampi” festival, Karosta (Liepaja), Latvia – June 2nd, 2007
Network video/sound installation linked 3 points – Karosta (Latvia), Strasbourg (France) and Kinshasa (Congo). Performance took place in building renovated by Paris architect group EXYZT, in 3 seperate spaces connected with video screens (receiving signals from opposite space and also Strasbourg and Kinshasa). I controled the sound work receiving signal from France and Congo and using also sound from the location, combining it all with live improvisation.
